WHY WE UNITE

Today, more than eight million Canadians are living with a blinding eye disease, including 1.2 million who have already experienced some level of vision loss — and these numbers continue to rise. By 2050, it is estimated that 13.8 million Canadians will be affected, with more than two million experiencing vision loss. Yet the future does not have to follow this path.

Advances in research are already changing what is possible. Today, three out of four cases of vision loss can be prevented or treated if detected early, helping people maintain their independence and stay connected to the people and activities they love.

For more than 50 years, Fighting Blindness Canada has worked alongside researchers, clinicians, donors, and families to move vision science forward and ensure Canadians facing vision loss have access to knowledge, resources, and hope. Since its founding, the organization has invested more than $42 million in research, contributing to over 850 scientific discoveries, including breakthroughs that have helped advance promising clinical trials.

Every ticket purchased and every dollar raised helps accelerate research, support vital programs, and move us closer to a future without blindness. Together, we are uniting for sight.
