ACCELERATE IMPACT AWARD
At Unite for Sight, we are proud to honour Ann Morrison and Dr. Elise Héon — two people whose work, across very different paths, has shaped Fighting Blindness Canada and moved vision science forward for Canadians across the country.
They are recognized for exceptional contributions to advancing vision research, strengthening our community, and helping build a future where vision loss is preventable and treatable.
We will celebrate them both on Thursday, November 5 at Unite for Sight and present them with the inaugural ACCELERATE IMPACT Award.
ANN MORRISON
Ann Morrison's connection to Fighting Blindness Canada began with her son's diagnosis — and grew into more than three decades of leadership that helped shape the organization.
Co-founder of Comic Vision, former Director of Philanthropy, current member of FBC’s Advisory Council and one of FBC's most committed fundraisers, Ann has helped generate millions for sight-saving research and brought an entire community of supporters into the FBC family.
DR. ELISE HÉON
Dr. Elise Héon is Staff Director of the Ocular Genetics Program at The Hospital for Sick Children, Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto, and one of Canada's leading voices on inherited retinal diseases.
A clinician, researcher, and champion of FBC's national IRD Patient Registry, she has spent her career connecting Canadian patients to the science that will change their futures — and has given her time to the FBC community as a speaker, advocate, and fundraiser.
